Abu Bakr Zoud – Reflections from the Revelation – EP02 – Sabbath Warning
AI: Summary ©
The pandemic has caused a violation of Islam by Congressman Azza wa Jal, who is preventing Muslims from fishing on the water. The violation is related to the Moore Act, which prohibits individuals from doing things, and the difficulty of dealing with the pandemic and the need for people to trust and appreciate guidance from Allah. The importance of patient behavior and staying patient is emphasized.

Alhamdulillah wa salatu wa salamu ala Rasool Allah
wa ala alihi wa sahbihi ajma'in.
As-salamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh.
I welcome you all, my brothers and sisters
in Islam, to this second episode of Reflections
from the Revelation in which I will be
speaking to you about a story and a
lesson that we can benefit from it bi
-idhnillahi ta'ala.
This is a story that Allah Azza wa
Jal mentions in Surat Al-A'raf and
it is a story about Bani Israel.
Allah Azza wa Jal, He says Allah
Azza wa Jal, He reveals to the Messenger
salallahu alayhi wa salam and He says to
him Ask the Jews of Medina Ask them
about About the people of a town and
this town was on the shores so it's
close to the beach, it's close to the
water Ask them about that town and its
people and what they did Subhanallah, the idea
here is that the Jews have not yet
accepted the Prophet salallahu alayhi wa salam so
perhaps, when now Allah Azza wa Jal is
going to reveal in detail what happened to
that tribe and the Jews have this knowledge
they're supposed to say, hang on where did
you get this knowledge from?
and they're supposed to come to the realization
that Allah is the one who revealed it
to him He taught him, therefore he is
a Prophet and they're supposed to accept him
so Allah Azza wa Jal now says about
this story He says A tribe of Bani
Israel residing on this town Allah Azza wa
Jal has now forbade upon them that they
fish on a Saturday it was forbidden upon
them to fish on a Saturday and that's
because of their violation to Allah's commandments before
and what they had done of rebellion and
transgression before this so this nation now exists
and there's something that Allah Azza wa Jal
has prohibited upon them and that is to
fish on a Saturday and think of this
in the Ummah of Rasulullah that now we're
living on Allah's land on earth and Allah
Azza wa Jal has certain things that he
has forbidden us from as Zina is Haram,
Riba is Haram and so on and so
for them, fishing on a Saturday was forbidden
and fishing the rest of the week is
lawful, permissible and do that Allah Azza wa
Jal he said وَاسْأَلْهُمْ عَنِ الْقَرْيَةِ الَّتِي كَانَتْ
حَابِرَةَ الْبَحَرِ وَاسْأَلْهُمْ عَنِ الْقَرْيَةِ الَّتِي كَانَتْ حَابِرَةَ
الْبَحَرِ إِذْ يَعْدُونَ فِي السَّبْتِ now this tribe
they violated the commandments of Allah subhanahu wa
ta'ala إِذْ يَعْدُونَ فِي السَّبْتِ they transgressed
and violated the Sabbath and they began to
fish on the Saturday but they would do
this they would take their fishing nets and
they would cast them out on a Friday
night and they would collect it Sunday morning
so now they appear before Allah Azza wa
Jal saying we didn't fish on Saturday we
didn't directly fish on Saturday they indirectly caught
the fish on a Saturday by placing those
nets Friday night and taking it Sunday morning
and this of course is a violation against
Allah Azza wa Jal and this is the
worst type of violation because who are you
playing tricks with you're playing tricks with Allah
Azza wa Jal and there are some Muslims
that deal with the prohibitions of Allah Azza
wa Jal in the same manner Allah Azza
wa Jal forbids something and for example people
will go around to get to what they
want and this is forbidden when Allah Azza
wa Jal forbids something then we completely avoid
it all together اذ يعدون في السبت Allah
Azza wa Jal he said اذ تأتيهم حيتانهم
يوم سبتهم شرعا on a Saturday the fish
would come to the ocean and شرعا they
would be popping out of the ocean the
entire ocean is glittering with the skin of
fish that's how much there was on a
Saturday شرعا literally jumping out they're on the
surface of the water some ulama would say
that the fish would come right to the
shore like a very severe temptation it's like
saying come take me and then it retreats
back into the waters اذ تأتيهم حيتانهم يوم
سبتهم شرعا و يوم لا يسبتون لا تأتيهم
and when it's not a Saturday so when
it's Monday, Tuesday Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and a
Sunday there is no fish لا تأتيهم doesn't
come I want you to think of something
here that is this entire thing is speaking
about when the halal becomes difficult and the
haram becomes easy you see the haram here
is to fish on a Saturday that's the
haram but look how easy it is on
a Saturday the fish are jumping out of
the water take me, take me, that's how
it is and other than the Saturday the
rest of the week six days of the
week it's halal to fish but there's no
fish that's when the haram becomes very easy
and when the halal becomes difficult and we
experience this especially in today's day and age
as zina fornication and adultery has become so
easy very easy as the phone call away,
a message away but marriage which is something
that is beloved to Allah عز و جل
which is the halal option of a relationship
has become so difficult and very, very, very
difficult earning a halal income is difficult today
especially in this day and age that we
live in order to survive you know but
earning haram money is very, very easy very
easy and so the idea here and also
dressing dressing immodestly has become very easy, see
the haram is easy, you go into any
clothing store and you'll find so much clothing
especially for women that is not Islamic and
it is not hijab it doesn't adhere to
the Islamic dress code of what a woman
is supposed to wear, yet it's very accessible,
it's very easy to wear it and to
walk in society because everyone around you is
doing the same thing and dressing modestly has
become very difficult you know, it's become something
that is abnormal so that's the same situation
in this story, the halal which is fishing
six days a week is difficult, there's no
fish and the haram which is fishing on
a Saturday has become very easy because there's
so much fish, see the idea, subhanallah, Allah
azza wa jal here, he tells us the
reason for why this becomes the case why,
why does society become like this why does
the haram become easy and the halal become
very difficult why, Allah azza wa jal he
says, ...
that's how we tested Bani Israel because of
their rebellion and transgression the more people rebel
and transgress and fall into sin and violate
the commandments of Allah Allah azza wa jal
tests that community and tests these people how?
by making the halal difficult and making the
haram very easy that's a test when people
make a tawbah to Allah azza wa jal
and turn back to the deen of Allah
and obey Allah's commandments and keep away from
the prohibitions that's when Allah will make the
halal easy really yes that's when marriage will
become a lot easier than zina and fornication
that's when earning halal and earning a lot
of wealth that is halal will become a
lot easier than earning haram wealth so this
ayah calls for a public tawbah from all
of us and to turn to Allah subhanahu
wa ta'ala and I tell you something
even though the community and the situation that
we might live on on earth right now
we are experiencing and we see that the
halal is very difficult and the haram is
easy that doesn't mean that oh we got
no choice but to do the haram no
rather we are supposed to remain patient in
these testing trialing times until Allah azza wa
jal makes the easy or makes the halal
easy we must be patient when does Allah
make the halal easy remember it's all a
test and there are good people among us
that are suffering the consequences of the community
that is around us that have violated and
rebelled against Allah azza wa jal so now
halal becomes very difficult upon us we need
to be patient and understand that obedience of
Allah azza wa jal must be at all
times no matter how difficult things were around
you if you find it very difficult to
get married what do you think the solution
is as zina * * these are not
solutions these will destroy you they will destroy
your mind they will destroy your soul they
will put a blackness on your face and
on your heart and what did you get
out of it a minute or two of
satisfaction and then long life a long life
of regret and sadness and sorrow that follows
the sin because that's the nature of sins
it blackens the heart and it blackens your
life meanwhile the one who was remained patient
during this trialing time of when the halal
is difficult remains patient these people Allah azza
wa jal will give them a sweetness of
iman in their heart they will be compensated
an ultimate reward on the day of judgement
and it's just a life and then we
will die one day and stand before Allah
azza wa jal questioned for all our deeds
that we did and hang on I share
with you one more thing and that is
remember those fish that they were forbidden to
take out from the ocean on a Saturday
because it was haram Allah azza wa jal
when he spoke about that fish he said
Allah said their fish appeared to them on
a Saturday you see what happened here Allah
said their fish meaning it's theirs it's their
rizq, it's their provision it was written for
them but they chose to take it through
al haram which was on that Saturday and
had they remained patient Allah azza wa jal
would have made that fish appear on the
halal days and they would have taken it
in al halal and so what we learn
is what Allah azza wa jal has decreed
for you of provision it is coming it
is coming and Nabi sallallahu alayhi wa sallam
he said inna ruha al qudus nafafa fi
gu'i that Jibreel he inspired into my
heart and he said no soul will die
until it completes it's provision no one will
depart this worldly life until he gets what
Allah has written for him of health and
wealth and marriage and children and jobs and
whatever it is you'll get it all fattaqullaha
wa ajmilu fi attalab Nabi sallallahu alayhi wa
sallam says fear Allah and seek your provision
in a beautiful manner in a lawful permissible
matter and a manner that is pleasing to
Allah and then Nabi sallallahu alayhi wa sallam
said and do not let the delay of
your provision force you to seek it in
an unlawful impermissible manner and this is what
happens with people he finds that a rizq
has been delayed when am I going to
get what I want when am I going
to marry when am I going to this
and that so as a result this delay
he had no patience, he went and seeks
it through al haram Nabi sallallahu alayhi wa
sallam says don't do that, don't allow the
delay to make you seek your provision through
al haram and finally in that hadith Nabi
sallallahu alayhi wa sallam says because what is
with Allah can never ever be sought through
his disobedience and so that's what we learn
from this ayah, from this story we ask
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala that he rectify
our situation we ask Allah azawajal that he
grant us patience that he allow us to
worship him and to obey him even in
difficult times, we ask Allah subhanahu wa ta
'ala to provide us with halal provision and
that he allow us to seek our provision
through halal means and to protect us from
everything that is haram we ask Allah azawajal
to grant us goodness and success in this
life and in the afterlife Allahu a'lam
wa sallallahu wa sallam wa baraka ala nabiyyina
